Getting Started

  1. Create a Bluesky account

Scribe uses your Bluesky account for identity and storage. If you don’t have one, sign up at bsky.app. Your Bluesky handle becomes your author identity in Scribe — for example, alice.bsky.social.

  2. Sign in to Scribe CMS

Go to scribe-cms.app and sign in with your Bluesky credentials.

  3. Create a site

In Scribe CMS, click New Site. Give it a title, description, and the domain it should be associated with (e.g. alice.example.com).

The domain you enter here must match the domain of the website that will display your content. If you’re not sure yet, you can update it later.

  4. Write your first article

Click New Article. Give it a title, write your content, and optionally add a description and splash image.

When you’re done writing, the article is in Draft state — it exists in your account but isn’t visible on any website yet.

  5. Publish your article

From the article list, click Publish next to your draft. A dialog opens where you:

    1. Choose the site — pick which site this article belongs to.
    2. Choose a group — pick an existing group, or select + Create new group and give it a name (e.g. “Writing”) right there in the dialog.
    3. Click Publish.

The article is assigned to the site and placed in the group together, in one step — it’s now Published.

Once an article is published, any website connected to your Scribe account via the Scribe SDK can display it. If you don’t have a website set up yet, see Using a Website to find out what you’ll need.
