Getting Started

  1. Create a Bluesky account

Scribe uses your Bluesky account for identity and storage. If you don’t have one, sign up at bsky.app. Your Bluesky handle becomes your author identity in Scribe — for example, alice.bsky.social.

  2. Sign in to Scribe CMS

Go to scribe-cms.app and sign in with your Bluesky credentials.

  3. Create a site

In Scribe CMS, click New Site. Give it a title, description, and the domain it should be associated with (e.g. alice.example.com).

The domain you enter here must match the domain of the website that will display your content. If you’re not sure yet, you can update it later.

  4. Write your first article

Click New Article. Give it a title, write your content, and optionally add a synopsis and splash image.

When you’re done writing, the article is in Draft state — it exists in your account but isn’t visible on any website yet.

  5. Publish your article

To make the article available on your website:

    1. Assign it to a site — open the article and select the site it belongs to. The article becomes Unpublished.
    2. Create a group — in the site editor, create a group (e.g. “Writing”). This will be a section on your website.
    3. Add the article to the group — drag or assign the article to the group. The article becomes Published.

Once an article is published, any website connected to your Scribe account via the Scribe SDK can display it. If you don’t have a website set up yet, see Using a Website to find out what you’ll need.
